Hi and welcome! I'm glad you're here and hope you find something to make your visit worthwhile. Come again!

We have been without our main computer for several days. Wow! Do I ever rely on it! I can't believe how many times I started to go to the computer before realizing it wasn't there. Wayne is AWEsome, though, and knew just how to fix it. What would we do without him?

A week ago Sunday we invited anyone serious about praying for our church to join us at our house. Altogether there were 8 of us here for over 2 hours. It was great, and since then, 3 opportunities have come up: one person suggested doing something for an "unchurched" family with a new baby, another suggested meals for an "unchurched" couple (and daughter and her 2 children who are staying with them) following the wife's surgery, and someone without a church asked if we could serve a meal following a funeral. That's a lot of contacts for one week.

Jonathan and Josalyn sent ultrasound pictures of their little one. It's so amazing to see how detailed they are at only 8-9 weeks. Next time they hope to find out the gender and I'll let you know. With 2 little ones on the way I'm feeling the need to begin quilting, like yesterday.

The eagles are really thick around here this year although the overall count is down. There were at least 40 of them in the trees on the edge of Danville over the weekend. Ed took this picture from the car. We learned that a trapper throws the entrails out in the field there and they find them delicious. Somehow eagles don't seem so regal after hearing that.

Last time I told you about the ceiling fan we got for $15. Ed now has it all installed and it gives wonderful light (when we remember that we can actually turn this one on).

Obviously there's not much of anything exciting going on at our house right now, but we'll try to do better this coming week. I hope yours will be great, too.

It's Saturday already! And what an unexpectedly full week this was. Nothing much happened as I had anticipated. Let's see. . .

Monday - Went to school for chorus only to find out that there was a sub and it would be a study hall.

Tuesday - Woke up to snow and school was cancelled. Yeaaaa! David had his knee surgery which went very well. It was hard to focus on anything except to wonder how he was doing. In the afternoon we went to look at a ceiling fan advertised on the radio swap program for $15 and bought it.  While enjoying some TV and handwork (Ed was working with his files) and just relaxing in the evening, the phone rang. Sarah, the college girl who stays with us, said she'd be here in 1 1/2 hours. Yikes! I thought she was coming next week! Still watched TV, but during every ad ran upstairs to take care of something for her return.

Wednesday - Went to school for chorus. Early out day meant I'd have to miss our weekly Bible study. But no one came in for choir so I practiced. After 40 minutes my phone rang and it was the teacher - oooops, he hoped I hadn't already come (duh! class should have started 40 minutes ago) as the schedule was changed because of the snow day yesterday and he wouldn't need me. Prayer meeting that evening was an annual business meeting.

Thursday - Woke up wanting some adventure. No school for me today - semester exams going on - so we invited Karen & Wayne to go with us to a moving sale in Dallas City, IL. Wow! Did we ever find some bargains! I got some closet organizer shelving units, 4 wood folding chairs, and a beautiful new, large framed picture. Ed really "hit the jackpot" with tools including a dremel tool with lots of attachments, some larger clamps, and a wheelbarrow. Karen found a wonderful area rug that was perfect for her dining room. We had a late lunch at Ryan's so I was stuffed at supper time. I had to fix dinner anyway as we provide that for Sarah. Ugh!

Friday - I woke up at 3:00 am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I went to the basement and spray painted the ceiling fan. Ed had already taken it apart and cleaned it. Now instead of shiny brass, it's polished nickel. Finally, chorus actually met. (Of course I didn't know that they'd be starting late because of exams still being given which meant we'd work through the normal lunch break.) Cleaned house after getting home.

Today - Got up early to fix breakfast for the men's Bible study at our house. Eight were here. That's all cleaned up and now I'm working on laundry. I'll top off the day by ironing and hemming some pants for Ed. Exciting, no? He hopes to get the "new" ceiling fan/light installed. Can't wait!

Tomorrow? Well, the plan is church, of course, then out for lunch with the teens followed by a special prayer time at our house at 2:00. I'm looking forward to popcorn, fudge, and apple in the evening. But who knows how the day will actually turn out. . . .

Happy New Year, everyone! We have had a nice, relaxing start to 2011. We were able to go to David and Rachel's in Michigan and spend a few days there and celebrate New Year's Day with them. Our coming inspired them to do some sorting and organizing they had been dreading and we also helped them paint their office. It's always fun to be of help. Then we got to attend church with them, something we really enjoyed.

Now that we're back home, I wanted the slow, relaxing times to continue. Too bad things get to be such a mess around here when I do that! I guess the fun has to end and I must get back to reality.

Continuing the laziness, we got a frozen meal in a bag for supper last night. Ed wanted a General Tsao meal we'd had before. We couldn't find it but got a spicy garlic stir fry instead. I took 2 bites and realized I should have paid more attention to the "spicy" part of the name. My lips turned red and my tongue got little white bumps where the "spice" actually burned it! At least it tasted good.
